Antonio García Zaballos is a leading telecommunications specialist in the IDB Sector for Development Institutions, where he is also the leader of the broadband initiative. He has extensive experience in the telecommunications sector, where he has worked in different positions of responsibility in companies such as Deloitte and Telefónica, as well as in the telecommunications regulatory institute in Spain. Antonio is also a member and expert on various committees on connectivity and Internet in institutions such as IEEE and the World Economic Forum. He has a doctorate in economics from the Carlos III University of Madrid and is an associate professor of finance applied to telecommunications at the Instituto de la Empresa Business School, as well as economic regulation at the American University and Johns Hopkins University. He is the author of several publications on economic and regulatory aspects for the telecommunications sector.
